Community Dialogues

Creating connection in a collective space

The ICEO Community Dialogues are a series of forums where MIT community members explore topics of belonging and inclusion and practice their ability to relate to one another around issues that surface diverse perspectives.

Community Dialogues provide an environment where people are encouraged to engage with each other from places of honesty, generosity, and respect. No preparation or special knowledge are required to participate. The only expectation is to be present with these intentions in mind: listen to understand, examine assumptions, seek connection, express curiosity, celebrate differences.

ICEO Community Learning staff and cohort members of the ICEO Facilitation Training Program facilitate each dialogue. Dialogues include small/large discussion activities and are open to all members of the MIT community.

Fall 2024 schedule

As we approach this fall’s U.S. national election, politics can have consequences on our interactions and relationships. Our theme for this cycle of Community Dialogues: how can we learn from each other, make room for differences of opinion, and remain steady in our values? MIT community members are invited to participate in one, two, or all three of the sessions.
